The mission of the Media & Communications working group is to counteract conservative bias in local media, and it accomplishes this by producing alternative radio programming from a progressive viewpoint. As such, the Media & Communications Working Group hosted The WNY Progress Report, a weekly radio show.
During the past year we have interviewed some of WNY's most important newsmakers, including Congressman Brian Higgins, former NYS Senator and present Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, all the past year's mayoral candidates, interim Erie County Comptroller James Hartman and present County Comptroller Mark Poloncarz, as well as local community and religious leaders to talk about such diverse issues as the the War in Iraq, the environment, civil rights and, one of our most popular shows, Was Jesus a Liberal!
