The Western New York Coalition Hosts a Screening and Panel Discussion of Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price

Buffalo, NY - On Wednesday March 22nd at 7:00 p.m., the Western New York Coalition for Progress will host a screening of the critically acclaimed feature-length documentary Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.
This important Amherst screening will be held at the Screening Room, Northtown Plaza, 3131 Sheridan Drive. A $1.00 donation will be graciously accepted to help defray the cost of the event.
A panel discussion will follow, featuring confirmed panelists Allison Duwe Executive Director of the Coalition for Economic Justice, Dennis E. Ward, Democratic Commissioner of the Erie County Board of Elections, with additional panelists pending.
There has been much discussion and controversy over the proposed siting of a Wal-Mart Supercenter on Millersport Drive in North Amherst.
Our screening is scheduled for the eve of a public scoping meeting concerning that Wal-Mart project. The WNY Coalition for Progress hopes that Amherst residents who are interested in or concerned about the North Amherst Wal-Mart proposal will attend the screening and discuss the controversy with our panel.
