Cars to Main Street
The Western New York Coalition for Progress supports the plan to
return vehicular traffic to Main Street in downtown Buffalo.
We recognize that a variety of causes led to the demise of retail
activity along Main Street, and that the return of vehicular traffic
to Main Street will not necessarily miraculously rejuvenate the area.
Nevertheless, we believe that the return of cars to Main Street will
help improve access to all of downtown, and will undoubtedly make
Main Street businesses more visible and help contribute to a rebirth
of what was once downtown's retail corridor.
